"The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new. " | Socrates

One of the most fulfilling and most challenging journeys you may ever go on is seeing what your body is capable of. Perhaps you are in shape, totally out of shape, or simply expecting to lose some weight. Nevertheless, developing a body that you can be proud, one that is very healthy, and permits you to really adore each last inch of it actually is an amazing journey to travel down.

So what is the key to making a lasting change with your body?

Consistency and commitment.

There's nothing else like coming to the table every single day and giving it your best shot. Your best effort must be yours and yours alone. Don't start comparing your journey to other journeys or else you will become lackadaisical and deterred. As an alternative understand you're competing against and with yourself and yourself alone. Will there be times on your journey where you try and fail? Yes, many times. But each time you do, you must come back with a commitment to achieving something that you strongly want. Consistency will keep you in the game and on the field every day. Without it, you will suffer the the inevitable fact of many new years resolutioners who give up each and every single year on creating the body of their dreams because they lack the ability to keep on coming back time and again.

Commitment also comes to mind, but not the commitment you're likely thinking of. In our world, we are fed this concept that everything must take place at this time and if it doesn't happen now, it is not worth it. Your body is going to change acrossthe years, so why don't you make a lifelong promise to remaining healthy? Is that an attractive marketable idea? Not particularly. But is it something that might truly change the course of your life? Absolutely.

When you make a promise to keeping your body healthy all throughout your entire life, you'll at last reach whatever goal you wish. It is all about seeing the overall picture than just the few months in front of you until summer. It's honestly about developing something that you can be pleased with for ever and ever. For me, that new concept changed the course of my life as I was able to eventually hit my fitness goals after 12 years of wrestling with my self-image and food issues. But as soon as I shifted my world view of what I was making an attempt to attain, everything I had wished for came to me. So try it on for size and see if it might work for you. Make a total dedication to staying healthy and watch how much your body will change in the short term as well.

Bring some commitment and consistency to the table, in all sides of your life, and things will change drastically.
